Fjord Coffee Roasters

Fjord is an independent coffee roaster based in Berlin, known for its dedication to sourcing and roasting some of the world's rarest and most exciting coffees. Their focus on high-quality, sustainably sourced beans has earned them a loyal following of coffee enthusiasts. For the branding and packaging redesign, we aimed to capture both the artisanal craftsmanship behind their coffee and the brand’s connection to nature. Inspired by aqueous imagery, the design features concentric shapes and fluid lines that evoke the movement of water. These shapes were handmade using suminagashi "paper marbling", an ancient Japanese art form that creates organic patterns by floating ink on water. This process adds a unique, handcrafted touch to each piece of packaging, highlighting the care Fjord dedicates to every batch of coffee.
